If that works, I will need to start investigating slackware 14.2 and seeing if there is anything different.Ĭan anyone recommend anything that I can look at as perhaps something about openvpn has changed between the latest version and the version that I have on my other clients which is 2.3.6 - the latest version is 2.3.12 but I suspect that its something about the slackware version that is the issue.Įnsure that you have linux setup to act as a router.
I am going to go into one of my clients on Friday and I am going to upgrade openvpn on that client and see if the issue is the latest version of openvpn. So I can ping the network computers from the vpn server itself so we can rule out a lot of things. However, I cannot access or ping any computer on the network from my vpn client. I ca connect to the vpn server and using putty I can logon to the vpn server and can ping computers on the network. My client config file on both my laptop and computer is obviously unchanged. I have ensured that the server config file is identical (apart from IP address and push route ip and push dhcp option dns and domain) to one of my other clients. Other clients are running Slackware 13 and this client is now running Slackware 14.2 with the very latest version of Openvpn. I took the opportunity to upgrade to the latest Slackware version (as that is the distro I use for my clients). One of my client had their proxy server hard drive die. I have several clients that have been running openvpn for about three years.
