We produce over 20 shows a year with different age groups. Spotlight is all about educational performances for Kindergartner through high school seniors. I use Yapsody for all my ticketing needs for Spotlight Studios for the Performing Arts in Fairport NY (a suburb of Rochester NY). The ease of setting up an event is extremely valuable. Once I showed the theatre owner and the other producers how Yapsody has changed to meet our needs, it was a no brainer to switch to Yapsody. I made requests to remove “print this and bring it to the venue” and the scan code… and it happened almost immediately. A few weeks ago Yapsody let me know they made changes and after a few more tweaks on your end, we’ve switched from Eventbrite to Yapsody.
We needed a quick fix so we wound up using Eventbrite. We needed a way for our audiences to “click” on the video link for our Live Stream event. In April we started Live Streaming solo artist shows but had to use Eventbrite because they had “clickable links” in their ticketing email. Lots of theatres in Los Angeles have closed but we are lucky enough to keep plugging along with the Live Stream performances. The theatre started Live Streaming shows a couple years ago and with Covid-19 we’re unable to have live audiences. They’ve been using Brown Paper Tickets forever. I got the theatre on board to Yapsody on just a few events. I found Yapsody several years ago and we’ve been using you exclusively since.
But my Christmas show, Santasia, has been performing there for the past 16 years. Well I just started working at the Whitefire Theatre 3 years ago. Yapsody’s reporting is easy and the feature to download ticket holder information is great as we transfer that to Mailchimp and allows us to market our current base of customers about our upcoming movies. Yapsody helped me resolve the biggest challenge I had in the past that the fees were really expensive to others but this is our first experience selling tickets and overall has been a good experience. The export features of customer information is awesome! The scanning app is amazing as well and very easy to give limited access to our volunteers who have found it easy to use the app. How easy it is to see a summary of the ticket sales for the events. My favorite part about Yapsody is they provide lots of great features, including how easy it is for people to buy tickets (Singles anyway).
